ABOUT CHOPPER COLLEGE

DUE TO THE ONGOING DEMAND FOR ITS’ SIGNATURE ‘BOOT CAMP’ - CHOPPER COLLEGE CONTINUES TO GROW!

Chopper College was first created by Tommy Creal in 2005 in response to the niche market for classes that had more condensed timeframes, and offered much more ‘hands-on’ experience for motorcycle enthusiasts. The 3-day ‘boot camp’ style classes offer 90% hands on instruction for all skillsets – from novice to expert. The classes are created to accommodate all skill mixes.

Chopper College began with one campus located thirty miles south of Chicago offering just the weekend Bike Building boot camp.  Over time, Chopper College has upgraded and expanded its core curriculum and has moved to an expanded 5500 square foot facility. In addition, Tommy Creal has traveled throughout 40 states to display his handcrafted motorcycles, teach his unique boot camp courses, and collaborate on projects with industry leading builders.

Chopper College follows an intense 3-day curriculum and creates an environment that is truly conducive to allowing students to immerse themselves in learning. The class begins with some lecture/theory, but quickly moves to the floor where students surround a bare motorcycle frame. That begins the hands- on instruction aspect motorcycle building – from scratch to turning the key!

In addition to hands-on experience and immediate feedback from experts, Chopper College prides itself on innovative teaching styles. For example, Chopper College implemented having a wiring harness enlarged and painted on the floor so students can walk through the flow of the current and feel the ‘pops’ and ‘shocks’, or real power. It helps reinforce the messaging of the instructors.

Finally, Chopper College has not only expanded its’ class offerings, but is also developing instructional videos on a variety of topics related to welding, fabrication, bike building and custom bike building topics.
