Chopper College's Signature Boot Camp Courses were originally developed in 2005 and have consistently maintained the successful ‘boot camp’ 3-day format. Our unique approach has proven to be popular to new motorcycle builders, white collar professionals interested in building as a hobby, mechanics, fabricators, and welders. 

We encourage everyone and anyone of any skill set to attend our boot camps. Yes, even those with virtually no experience can participate knowing that they will benefit and have hands-on experience. By the end of the 3rd day, students will have a wealth of knowledge, tips and tricks, and leave with a bunch of high fives and the confidence to move forward with the support of your new fellow builders and Chopper College. World Famous Bike Building Boot Camp

This is your first step towards making your dream a reality! Our intense 3-day boot camp is taught by industry leading experts and bike builders with decades of knowledge. The objective of this course is to help students obtain a fundamental knowledge of motorcycle assembly including an overview of work area safety, motorcycle styles/design and geometry, parts, fasteners, electrical theory and mapping, and more. Because Chopper College utilizes a ‘hands on’ and interactive model of teaching/learning, students begin with a bare frame and will build a custom motorcycle in just 3 days. Students see and experience what it takes to build or modify a motorcycle/chopper. Each module is taught by a seasoned and master motorcycle/chopper builder with an extensive background in building, designing, fabricating, welding and modifying bikes.

So, whether you’re interested in building a bike or customizing your own motorcycle/chopper, this course provides the knowledge you need and you’ll leave with the confidence to do it yourself!

All Women's Bike Building Boot Camp

Move over boys…. women only here! Taught by an expert custom bike builder at Chopper College, you will learn to build a custom bike safely and properly during an intensive 3-day weekend boot camp. The objective of this course is to help students obtain a fundamental knowledge of motorcycle assembly including an overview of work area safety, motorcycle styles/design and geometry, parts, fasteners, electrical theory and mapping, and more. Because Chopper College utilizes a ‘hands on’ and interactive model of teaching/learning, students begin with a bare frame and will build a custom motorcycle in just 3 days. After a few hours of classroom/lecture, the remainder of the course is hands-on learning. We start with a bare frame on an air lift and by the end of the class we are turning the key to start the engine.

So, come learn how to build a bike from scratch or customize your own, ask questions, and talk with like-minded women!

Engine Theory & Building Boot Camp

This course offers a brief history and review of the internal combustion engine. Students will disassemble and reassemble a modern V-twin engine studying everything from parts to specifications. Students will be exposed to standard industry procedures for removing, replacing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, rebuilding and assembling V-twin engines.

This course is taught by an ASE master technician and certified engine machinist. Students will walk away gaining knowledge and experience with internal combustion engines!

Metal fabrication boot camp

Learn how to roll, bend, shape, form and weld sheet metal with certified and industry experts from Chopper College. In this course, students learn the basic chemistries and mathematical equations used and necessary to know before beginning any fabrication project. In addition, both teaching and hands-on experience with tools and equipment such as planishing hammers, English wheels, shrinker/stretcher, dollies, metal brake, tubing benders, and more.

Finally, students will learn proper basic welding techniques from a certified MIG welder utilizing MIG welding theories. Each student will demonstrate their new knowledge and skills with an in-class project.

Mig welding 101 -basic welding-

In this course students learn the basics of the electrode arc welding process. After developing basic metal inert gas welding knowledge students will cut, grind, and learn basic welding techniques. Students will also have classroom time to gain an understanding of metallurgy.

Mig Welding 102 -Advanced Welding-

In this course students continue to develop welding techniques for all of the basic weld joints while focusing on filet welds. In addition, students will learn how to cut with a plasma torch, learn the basics of preparing metals for welding, and finishing metals. Students will be tested on their penetration, welding techniques, and consistency at the end of the course.

Tig welding 101 - Basic Tig Welding-

In this course students will learn the basics of tungsten inert gas welding (TIG), develop their skills of various welding techniques, learn on types of tungsten and filler metals, and develop torch control. Students will gain a better understanding of the elements of welding in order to control them moving through the welding zone with the TIG torch. Students will learn the basics of using tungsten filler and the basic functions of the machines settings/controls.

Tig welding  102 -Advanced Tig Welding-

In this course students continue to learn how to to identity a good TIG welding and continue to develop arc control techniques. Student will learn how to welding aluminum and further their skills on TIG welding on other various metals.
